The Asian Brown Flycatcher (13 cm) (Muscicapa dauurica poonensis) winters in peninsular India (primarily south of the Vindhya range), Sri Lanka, Andamans and Nicobars in low country up to 1000 m. Breeds in Himalayan foothills and hills of central and western India. Grey-Brown with short tail, large head and huge eye with prominent eye-ring. Extensive orange base to the lower mandible.
