Moorhen at a marsh land

Moorhen has a purple mixed blue color body with a red beak and moderately long legs. A bunch of Moorhens (about 10 numbers) were found  in a bulrush surrounded  marsh land adjacent to Kaveri river near Grand Anicut. Another group of birds (shown in the second photo) were found in the Kuthaipaar lake (in the Kallanai Road, Thiruverumbur). They were feeding seeds of water plants, tender leaves, insects and worms that are available in the marsh land.
