A drop of blue sky

Yellow-billed Babbler

Babblers are the birds I see now in more numbers at my country side, near by my home and office windows. You are right, Mynas are also thriving everywhere. However, babblers grab your attention when they visit your garden or window side tree because they comes in good numbers with chirping that fills the air and mind. They will jump here and there in the shades and turn every leaf for food, the insects. The storm the tree  in few minutes and leave the place and you in silence that was not there few moments before.  Wikipedia says, "it is a noisy bird, and the presence of a flock may generally be known at some distance by the continual chattering, squeaking and chirping produced by its members. One member often perches high and acts as a sentinel while the remaining members of the flock forage on or close to the ground".

The other day I saw a flock of Babblers were chasing away a squirrel from a tree. The squirrel managed to escape. I don't know whether they were involved in hunting or simply chasing the squirrel away to gain the ground.
