Paddyfield Pipit

This morning I photographed this pipit that was perched on a granite post and cheeping a feeble 'song'. It was somewhat sweet and sounded like 'atseep, tseep...' Probably it is nesting. Initially, I thought it is a sparrow. However, its longer tail and slender bill was not of sparrows.  It is a in fact a small bird who is loosing its habitat there since the paddy fields are giving way to new apartments.
