Streak-throated Swallow

They are small (12 cm) swallows with glossy steel blue above, chestnut forehead and crown whitish below streaked with brown on throat and upper breast. Sexes alike. Usually large congregations hawking insects near water. But I haven't seen many at Koothapar, Trichy. They have been observed along with House swallow or common swallow. It has been observed in northern and western Tamilnadu  (Rathnam in Tamilnattu Paravaihal).  It resides at northern part of the sub-continent  (from Pakistan to northern parts of Karnataka), breeds in the Himalayas and visits peninsular India during non-breeding periods.
