Large Pied Wagtail

This large pied wagtail is in  black-and-white plumage, resembling in pattern that of the Magpie-Robin, but with a prominent white eyebrow. It can be seen at tanks and streams.  Wagtail is a resident breeder in India and is endemic to the Indian subcontinent. This was photographed in a local tank in Kurumpoondi, near vallamputhur, Thanjavur. Like other wagtails, this species is insectivorous.
